The matt fabric of the bottom frill gives a lovely contrast with the black satin, complemented by a beautiful black braid trim.
ABOUT THE HOOP SKIRT
When you need a strong and reliable hoop skirt to go under that Victorian, Steampunk or bridal ensemble you'll love the Victorian and Steampunk steel boned hoop skirt. This hoop skirt will last for years and years.
Made from a strong polyester suiting fabric or a black brocade with 3 rows of spring steel boning.
An ideal size for most costumes, this hoop has a bottom circumference of approximately 2.8 metres (110inches) giving plenty of room for walking and giving a lovely shape to a full skirt but not so big that getting through doorways and crowds is a problem.
This Farthingale style hoop skirt is perfect for Renaissance and Tudor period costumes as well as Steampunk and Victorian ensembles.
Easy to wear with an elasticated waist band and drawstring making it comfortable to get on and off and wear all day at any event.
Hoop skirts are surprisingly fun to wear, much easier to walk and move in that tulle petticoats. Each step you take easily moves the hoop out of the way allowing air flow around the legs in hot weather and also hides your shoes so that your favourite comfy pair can be worn. Annette (our founder) personally wears sneakers under her hoop skirts for their comfort and stability. Particularly helpful when standing and walking at a festival or other event for hours at a time.
